Nachdem Nicki Minaj in letzter Zeit vor allem durch ihre Nacktfotos von sich reden gemacht hat, gibt es jetzt Neuigkeiten über ihre musikalische Arbeit.

In einem Interview mit MTV bestätigte sie, dass sie bereits begonnen hat, an ihrem dritten Soloalbum zu arbeiten:

"I'm definitely working. I'm very excited about what I've been coming up with."

Nun wolle sie sich ausschließlich auf das Projekt konzentrieren und sich dafür zu Hause "einschließen": 

"I already started, and I'm going home, actually tomorrow to really start. Like, I'm taking just two months to just lock in."

Sie plane auch, mit neuen Künstlern zu arbeiten, um einen neuen Sound zu kreieren: 

"So I'm really excited, and the people that have been working with now have been people that I haven't worked with before, so it's like they're bringing a new sound to the album that I've never experimented with."

Außerdem freue sie sich, nach ihren eher seichten Features nun Songs mit ernsthaftem Inhalt schreiben zu dürfen:

"[...] I've got so much to talk about. In the features, I don't really delve into no real deep shit. And with the album, thank God, I've experienced so much in the last year-and-a-half that there's so much for me to talk about. I know my fans are gonna be excited about it."
