Kurz vorher fing allerdings Azealia Banks an mit dem Streit. Nach dem Release von T.I.s neuer Single No Mediocre ft. Iggy Azalea schrieb sie via Twitter:
"U want no mediocre but … Have you seen your wife?"
Der Tweet wurde mittlerweile gelöscht. Am 17. Juni 2014 folgten weitere Seitenhiebe gegen T.I. und dessen Frau Tiny:

Nachdem Azealia Banks den Instagram-Post von T.I. gesehen hat, ging es munter weiter:
"Guess who's about to get sued for threatening me!"
"Niggas Love Jail."
Grund für den Beef? T.I.s Künstlerin Iggy Azalea und Azealia Banks können sich nicht riechen. 2012 war Iggy auf dem XXL's 2012 Freshmen Class-Cover abgebildet, was Azealia nicht passte.
T.I., ganz der Labelchef und große Bruder, verteidigte seinen Schützling im Radio bei DJ Drama 2012: "Was she not happy with her being on there? Or, was she not happy because she was not on there?"
Im April 2012 schlug er daraufhin andere Töne an in einem Radiointerview: "The fact that she’s speaking up on me and mine, I didn’t even see it. That’s a b*tch sh–, I’ma man. You ain’t got no business addressing me. Get your man to address me, if you got a man, get him to address me and he and I can speak on it."
Kurz nach der Ausstrahlung widmete Azealia Banks T.I. einen mittlerweile gelöschten Tweet: "@tip T.i …. Please shut the f— up about this. Like seriously quit it"
Weitere wütende Tweets folgten. Sie habe angeblich sogar T.I.-Songs von ihrem iPad gelöscht:
"@tip funny how you have plenty of time to address me but have nothing to say to the dudes who been calling u at as a snitch forever”
“@tip it’s dead… The streets already know what kind of dude you are. Stop making yourself look softer by dragging this out.”
“LMFAOO every time I delete a t.i. song from my iPad I imagine him dying in some bloody horror film like being eaten by a zombie"
Auch Iggy Azalea reagierte im gleichen Jahr: "This is my day and it’s my achievement. You have to work to have your own achievements, with all due respect. Instead of worrying about who else is on there, you should just be happy that I’m on there as a woman for women, and if you want to have your an achievement, work and have your own achievement. I can’t take what’s meant for you and you can’t take what’s meant for me.”
T.I. fügte hinzu: “And strategically if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman…If you spend half of your day getting money and the other half of your day counting money, you ain’t got no time in your day to worry about nobody else."
