Der Maybach Music Group -Rapper Wale hat sich in einem Interview mit Bootleg Kev zu der Auseinandersetzung zwischen seinem Labelchef Rick Ross und Corporate Thugz Entertainment -Gründer Young Jeezy geäußert. Auf Nachfrage, ob er auch in das Geschehen involviert war, antwortete Wale , dass er aufgrund eines Auftritts die BET Hip Hop Awards vorzeitig verlassen musste. Zudem bezeichnet er die Situation als bedauernswert und unglücklich: " I heard about it. I didn't know what was true. Everything was happening so fast, I didn't know what was going on... I wasn't nowhere near the whole situation...I really can't call and say what happened or what should have happened. It's unfortunate, to say the least. " Daneben gab er auch preis, dass er keine Ahnung hatte, dass es zwischen Rick Ross und Young Jeezy Anfeindungen gab: " That ain't something that we sit around and talk about, our relationships with other artists. We never really talk about nobody but ourselves amongst ourselves. So nobody really knew how deep anything was or how deep nothing is. So, I'm assuming this is something that was just blown out of proportion, for the most part. " HipHop-Mogul und Unternehmer Diddy hat zudem am Wochenende Young Jeezy als neuesten Ciroc Boy vorgestellt, zu denen auch Rick Ross zählt. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Gruppe von Rappern, die einen Vertrag mit Diddy s Marke abgeschlossen haben. Dazu gehören neben Ludacris , Pitbull und Jay-Z beispielsweise auch Lil Kim , DJ Khaled oder Lil Jon . Außerdem wolle Diddy laut allhiphop.com zwischen Rick Ross und Young Jeezy vermitteln: " Well, now that the two men are both under the Diddy- Ciroc umbrella, we hear that Diddy has taken it upon himself to mediate the situation between the two rappers. Seiner Meinung nach sind für die Auseinandersetzungen Egos und Stolz verantwortlich: " I didn’t even know about the fight. Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride. I don’t know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it’s about pride and ego. I can’t speak for every case. I don’t know much about this case. " Zuletzt beschwerte sich BETs President of Music Programming and Specials , Stephen Hill , über die negative Berichterstattung, denn obwohl sich die Langzeitrivalen 50 Cent und Fat Joe auf der Bühne versöhnten, drehten sich die Schlagzeilen fast ausschließlich um die Auseinandersetzungen: " It was a simple, cool moment in hip-hop, when 50 went over, Joe shook hands, and they walked off the stage. Nobody at any point in time thought that there’d be a disrespect of Chris on stage by the two of them, or any other factions going at it. " Den Zusammenprall von Rick Ross und Young Jeezy spielte er derweil herunter. Seiner Aussage nach gab es absolut keine Schlägerei, es wurde nur geschubst. Der Spiegel, der im Video von tmz.com kaputt ging, soll ebenfalls nicht geworfen worden sein, er hätte einfach im Weg gestanden und aus diesem Grund kaputt gegangen: " There was absolutely an altercation behind the stage, it involved the crews of Ross and Jeezy.
