Auf Instagram veröffentlichte The Game jetzt einen offenen Brief an sein großes Idol und späteren guten Freund Phife Dawg, der gestern an den Folgen seiner Diabetes-Erkrankung verstarb. Unseren Bericht dazu findest du hier.

Besonders die letzten persönlichen Worte, die Phife ihm mit auf den Weg gab, wolle Game mit der Öffentlichkeit nun teilen. In dem Post heißt es unter anderem:

"Das letzte Gespräch zwischen mir und Phife war sehr kurz und ich werde mit euch unsere Abschiedsworte teilen. Er sagte: 'G-Money, du musst die Musik so sehr lieben, dass es sich so anfühlt, als ob du ohne sie nicht mehr leben kannst.'"

The Game fordert seine Fans auf, sich noch einmal an einen der größten Musiker im Hiphop zu erinnern. Er bezeichnet Phife als "Rap Pionier" und wolle immer weiter an ihn erinnern, auch wenn er nun nicht mehr physisch unter uns weile.

I know when someone dies & it's not a family member of yours or anyone close its of no real importance to you because life goes on.... But today, I want everyone who see's this to stop & take a minute to remember one of hip hops "GREATS" !!!! Malik #PhifeDawg Taylor was a rap pioneer, an innovator & overall just a dope individual... Everything he did even from afar, for me as a fan of Tribe Called Quest was so epic & really made me appreciate music in its raw form as a kid engulfed by the lifestyle that would later shape the world...... & from a fan to becoming a close friend of his & @QTipTheAbstract made those childhood memories even more historic.... The last conversation I had with Phife was a short one & I'll share our parting words with you.... He said: "Yo G-Money, you gotta let the music consume you until you feel like you can't breathe without it".... All I said in return was... "I got you OG"...... & then I listened to Midnite Marauders on repeat for the next week to get inspiration for my #1992 solo project....... I say all that to say, just because your not here anymore in the physical presence doesn't mean I won't do my part in sharing my memories of your memory with whoever has time to read it today..... Rest Easy Phife & my condolences to your family..... Just talked to @QtipTheAbstract & he told me "When a close ones physical is done, you pick up life where they left it & continue on to places ONLY YOU CAN GO"..... I got it. Love - The Game
