Neue Musik von The Notorious B.I.G. gefällig? Was komisch klingt, hat Produzent Statik Selektah jetzt möglich gemacht. Er hat sich ohne größere Ankündigung dazu entschieden, einen bisher unveröffentlichten Verse der 1997 verstorbenen Rap-Legende mit der Welt zu teilen.

Auf Instagram fragt Statik Selektah, ob jemand neue Biggie-Zeilen hören möchte. Spitzbübisch schiebt er hinterher, dass er sich am Sonntag langweilen würde. Anschließend stellt er in den Raum, dass selbst die härtesten Biggie-Fans die folgenden Aufnahmen nicht kennen dürften.

Auf der Plattform Audiomack ist der Track als "Bastard Child" betitelt. Die Produktion kommt von Statik Selektah. Der markante Flow von Biggie Smalls hat auch 2020 nichts von seinem Charme eingebüßt – einfach zeitlos.

US-Magazine mutmaßen, dass das Material aus dem Bestand von Joe Lyons stammt. Der Creative Director plant am 14. Mai ein großes Biggie-Special live auf Instagram aufzuziehen. Dort sollen Raritäten aus der Karriere des ikonischen MCs zu hören sein. Lyons erklärt:

"Ich habe eine der vollständigsten Sammlungen seiner Aufnahmen, die es gibt, und ich werde frühe Versionen spielen, die viele Leute noch nie zuvor gehört haben."

Die meisten Erfolgsgeschichten scheinen etwas gemeinsam zu haben. Die Lage, in der sich der Protagonist befindet, beginnt meistens schon ziemlich schlecht. Aufgrund harter Schicksalsschläge wird es meist noch schlechter als schlecht und so geht es immer weiter, bis man irgendwann an dem Punkt ankommt, an dem alle Hoffnung verloren scheint.
