Die Nominierungen für die 58. Grammy Awards-Verleihung am 15. Februar sind raus und Kendrick Lamar thront über allen anderen Künstlern. Mit insgesamt 11 Nominierungen könnte er der große Star des Abends werden.
K-Dots To Pimp a Butterfly ist als Album of the Year nominiert und der Song Alright könnte vier Awards gewinnen. Wenn er tatsächlich in allen Kategorien gewinnen sollte, würde er den geteilten Rekord von Michael Jackson (1984) und Santana (2000) mit je acht Awards in einer Nacht sogar übetreffen und sich in den Grammy-Geschichtsbüchern verewigen. In der Liste der meisten Nominierungen in einer Nacht steht er jetzt auf Platz 2 hinter Michael Jackson (12x 1984) und vor Lauryn Hill, Eminem und Beyonce (je 10x).
Mit Glory von Common und John Legend ist ein Oscar-Gewinner als Best Rap/Sung Collaboration nominiert.
