Gewalt in den USA: Snoop Dogg & The Game organisieren Marsch zur Polizei

Snoop Dogg und The Game suchen den Dialog mit der Polizei: Die beiden Rapper haben einen Marsch zum Hauptquartier der Polizei in Los Angeles organisiert.

Im Vorfeld hatten Snoop Dogg und The Game betont, dass sie eine friedliche Demonstration planen und keinerlei Hitzköpfe dabei haben wollen:

Rund 100 Menschen aller Hautfarben sind dem Aufruf gefolgt und zogen am letzten Freitag vor das Hauptgebäude der Polizei.

Ihr erklärtes Ziel war ausdrücklich nicht, nur gegen Polizeigewalt zu demonstrieren, sondern gegen jede Form von Gewalt. Das beste Mittel dagegen sei Kommunikation, an der es fehle.

Die Aktion kann als voller Erfolg bezeichnet werden: Polizeichef Charlie Beck und Bürgermeister Eric Garcetti gingen auf das Gesprächsangebot ein und trafen sich mit The Game und Snoop Dogg.

In einer anschließend spontan anberaumten Pressekonferenz sprach The Game davon, dass jeder Mensch Verantwortung tragen müsse und als Friedensstifter tätig werden könne:

Philando Castile wurde heute in Minnesota bei einer Verkehrskontrolle erschossen.
