Über 20 Jahre nach seinem Tod wird 2Pac nächstes Jahr in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Nach der Nominierung im Oktober hat das berühmte Clevelander Museum dies jetzt bekanntgegeben.

Neben Pac werden Pearl Jam, Yes, Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra und Jounrey 2017 als Neuzugänge vorgestellt. Ein Award for Musical Excellence wird an Nile Rogers verliehen.

Dass die Hiphop-Legende nicht schon früher für die Hall of Fame in Frage kam, liegt an der Richtlinie, dass Künstler erst 25 Jahre nach ihrem Debütalbum nominiert werden dürfen. 2Pacalypse Now erschien im November 1991.

Bisher wurden aus der Rap-Welt Grandmaster Flash and the furious Five (2007), Run-D.M.C., die Beastie Boys (beide 2012), Public Enemy (2013) und N.W.A. (2016) in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame eingeführt.

2017 wird außerdem das 2Pac-Biopic All Eyez On Me mit Demetrius Shipp Jr. in der Hauptrolle in die Kinos kommen – alle Infos und das Release Date gibt's hier.
