Ghostface Killah hat jetzt eine eigene Währung

Bitcoin stellt die bekannteste Krypto-Währung dar, aber natürlich bei Weitem nicht die einzige. Jetzt investiert sogar Wu-Tang Clan-Mitglied Ghostface Killah in das Geschäft mit dem virtuellen Blockchain-Geld: Er soll Cream Capital mitgegründet haben. Das C.R.E.A.M. steht hier allerdings nicht für "cash rules everything around me", sondern für "crypto rules everything around me" steht.

In ihrem Initial Coin Offering (ICO) will die Firma direkt 30 Millionen US-Dollar zusammen bekommen. Die Cream Dividende genannten Tokens sollen im November zum Kauf angeboten werden. Die Cream Dividende kann dann unter anderem offenbar auch in Ether umgetauscht werden, eine andere, erfolgreiche Kryptowährung, die die Ethereum-Blockchain nutzt.

Ghostface Killah gesellt sich damit zu einer illustren Riege an Stars, die sich bereits für das unübersichtliche Geschäftsfeld der Kryptowährungen interessieren: Auch Paris Hilton oder Jamie Foxx haben bereits damit Schlagzeilen gemacht. Auch 50 Cent und The Game betätigen sich auf diesem Feld, eine Kanye West-Themen-Währung existiert wohl ebenfalls.

Da die Online-Währungen starken sowie gleichzeitig sehr schnell aufeinander folgenden Schwankungen unterliegen, werden sie insbesondere an den herkömmlichen Finanzmärkten argwöhnisch begutachtet. Südkorea hat bereits jegliche neue Kryptowährung verboten.

A cryptocurrency firm co-founded by U.S. rapper Ghostface Killah hopes to raise $30 million in a digital coin sale. Cream Capital said Wednesday it would raise the funds through an initial coin offering (ICO) - a method of crowdfunding that has been met with much scrutiny from regulators recently.
